FRAGMENTS OF MY LIFE

It was a great morning till we had that conversation. Living in the same room both being unable to figure out when to watch the newly rented dvd, as of course the very load shedding over ruling our lives, my bro suggested to watch the movie the very morning. I chuckled at the idea. We Both have just woke up, had our tea yet under our blankets ( he is under his blanket and i am under mine if case you are wondering ;)) making plans for the day. Figuring out me saying myself ' its a bad idea to watch the movie that early' , he gave me ' so what' look and started explaining his logic behind suggesting to watch the movie. The reason was surely the black out at 8am. Its already 6:30. I proposed him to copy the movie so that we can watch it later on that--- -would be in the evening. Hard heartedly he accepted it but ordered me to copy it though he was the one nearest to pc. Order is order. I didnt want to but my bed has to live without my warmth for few minutes till i am done copying. I guess its just the opposite. I inserted the cd in the ROM and with my shivering hand i am in my job to copy the movie while my bro,with all his body inside his blanket and head popped out out of it, checked on me copying the disk. But what i thought was not the easy one. I am not even done half copying and pc freezed i am sure it's not because of the cold. I tried every possible techniques that i know for sure but the pc doesnt seem to be cooperating. So i was left with only option - poke its belly bottom with my index finger. I didn't look at my bro's face because i know he was giving me ' what the hell was that' look. Actually he was not just giving that look but all set up to say it. I knew it by the way he fly aside his blanket. Then he was just behind my back.

Anyone living in Nepal wouldn’t have to be explained what's the present problem that we are facing! I have also explained about the load shedding i.e. the daily cut off of electricity within the country 14 hours a day affecting every field of economy in my previous posts. The government seems to have taken no or little steps to solve this situation. Of course that was what I thought. Guess I was wrong. :). I heart from my friend that the government has called for the bid in order to encourage the use of CFL bulbs which is supposed to have the capacity to solve the present problem if used by every citizen of the country. Isn’t it great? At least there is a ray of hope to solve what we are compelled to face. The development of a nation is indicated by the amount of the electricity consumed by it. So what is the development situation of Nepal? With a load shedding of 14 hours a day, any one can hardly imagine the progress. What I think about the step that government has initiated is good but still more can be done. The bid asked for the organizations that can provide the CELs bulbs at low cost or free of another with a buying of one. Similarly I think the discount of 5% can be given in the total cost of monthly Electricity bills or certain card system can be given for those using the CFLs at home. The work is difficult but still can be done as there is a saying “nothing is impossible in this world”. Also for those having the CFL utilization card would get a first priority say while paying the bills or get the first priority in any government office while getting the work done. If there is a conflict between the card holders then the first come first served system can be applied as usual. If the concept of using the card system can create the problem when two card holders comes for the same word then the next concept can be used. Two separate lines can be make in the government organization where lots of people come -one for the card holder and the next for the normal user without card E.g. in paying electricity bill, petrol pumps and discounts can be given to the card holders during festivals fate or exhibition like all the students are getting. All the fields where has maximum public interest a separate facility should be provided to those who are using CFL bulbs. This would be the appreciation of the government for their help and support. Recently I have seen long lines of students applying for the sim of Nepal telecom when it was made available for them for just Rs 510 with talk time of 500. It could have become successful in gathering mass attention. So why not giving the same offer for those who are using CFL bulbs in their home? I bet it will skyrocket the use of the bulb which will definitely reduce the present pressure on electricity. The only obstacle to the above idea would be the rejection of telecom but that would not be an unsolved problem if the government is really serious about it. But of course for the implementation of the above techniques a lot of homework has to be done. And it will definitely be the quicker method than the thermal power plant. All the offers that I have discussed didn’t have to be for ever. The new concept can be in use for some months or 4/5 years at most then it could be dismissed. By that time every family would have installed set of bulbs in every corner of their house or a new large hydro power plant of lots of small and micro hydro plants would have be developed. I know some of you must be thinking it would be like cheating to implement the idea for some years and then dismiss it. Tell you what we have no choice and we can take the example of spice Nepal who has taken the market with the similar scheme of 1 paisa per call for interconnection and later 20 minutes of free call scheme and the truth is it’s still hasn't gone bankrupt though both of the schemes have been dismissed. Isn't it the time for the government to learn something from the example what's so close to their eyes?
I can see a lot of things which can still be done if the government is really willing to do something.
Today I was on a micro which was supposed to take a turn through RATNAPARK but instead the root was changed to a longer distance from JAMAL. The micro had to take a longer distance in order to reach the same spot. I am sure the step was taken by the valley traffic in order to control the flow. But from my view I felt like it’s a punishment for not respecting them. Being a frequent traveler of this route, I have found the drivers of my route the most irresponsible one. hehe. Yeah it’s bitter but the truth. So why can’t the government apply the same penalty equation for those who are not using CFL? And the addition of 5 to 10% on the total cost of electricity bill can be done for those not using CFL bulbs. ;) The concept of adding 5 to 10 percent more on the total electricity bill to those consumers not using the CFL bulbs is of course derived from the universal law of pay per pollution. I like this concept of giving the limited permits for pollute to the countries which will ultimately limit the pollution they can do for definite period of time and if their factories are producing more pollution to than the permits they have got, they need to buy the additional permits from those countries that pollute less than their permits. Taking more from the non user of CFLs and giving discounts to those who are using is the same as the permits. The field of application may be different but the concept is the same. Or just like the carbon trading rule where the countries emitting more carbon has to invest some of their incomes in the development of those under developed countries who have been affected by their emission. If the concept can be applicable at the global level definitely it can be at national with some constraints of course because no pain no gain.
No rules can be implied till it’s done by the force and after its implemented for some month it will be a practice.

Today after my hydro power class i was made to fill up a form by my friend.I should say i filled up the form given by him because he did not actually made me do that. He just asked for it and i volunteered him. Yeah this line is appropriate. Hehe. Ok let me tell you what the form was all about. Well its a single sheet paper with some questions on both sides. Actually it was a kind of survey which was made by him and the other fren as he said. Its our last year in our college and may be he thought he should do something different to get noticed or something like that. Of course i didnt mean be skeptical about it. I liked the idea as long as on one takes the whole thing personally. Oops guess i have forgotten to tell what the questions were all about. They were funny ( by funny i mean he they are followed by the respective answers ). The questions were like who is the most romantic couple, hero of the class, most skeptical person, the handsome ,the beautiful, the trouble maker the source of distraction etc..... For someone it may the source of embarrasement while for the others it may be just a fun an nothing more. Atleast it would be a memory for whatever we were in the class. ;-) keep it up guys hope the fun always continues in everyone's life.. Will miss the fun we had together.

It has already been 6 pm and my room is still dark. Its not because i dont have tube lights in my room but there is no electricity. I am standing in front of tv and the computer but they are all dead without electricity. My room has been silent since 12 o clock this noon. The heavy music used to show my presence in my room but latety silence has been my company. And to be honest it disturbs me much than the music; distract would be the right word to say. I smile at my desktop and it smiles me back -"both of us are having long rests (may be what she is thinking). I have got to write a paper on hydro power on sunday. Funny isn't it? I read a question on my old question collection which says " how do you justify the relevance of hydropower development in nepal ?" for those of friends who might have read this question right now must be thinking it would be foolish to answer this question.Lol!! Because it doesnt need words to explain the present situation and as far as the relevance is concerned it is a must. With 83 thousand MW potential as seen in most of the papers, the present production of 600MW is definately shocking. Only 20% of the population has access to electricity of which only 5% of the rural populatio so far has access to grid supplied electricity (WWA and IHA, 2003) and the fact continues..... We dont lack so called master minds who can really make a difference, we have skills as well so what's not letting us to do what we need and what we can? Is not it a time to postpone the constitution and rather go for what is needed most? Its just a question or may be some other have different views about it. But its definitely time to think seriously than going after some stupid fights. We have a whole life to fight with each other now is the time for something else. Oh my god still on light. Want to put off tug of war between my thought?

yes its the 1st of Magh of Nepali calender and ofcourse the time to celebrate the very great festival of massage (hehe) Maghesankrati!! here is the festival fun and the facial that me and my cousins had that very day. it was realy fun that day coz i had facial. wanna be handsome lol!!!

In this grand day, my congrats to those who have a party and lots of people to be with, who have small group of friends to talk to, have a family to have fun with or have at least someone who s/he can touch and feel just to give a sense that you are not alone – you are the few lucky one and that’s why you are special. This New Year, may the first drop of rain that fall on us wash away all our sins, may the first kiss on her cheeks make her forget and forgive all the pains that we’ve caused to our loved ones and may the new breeze fill us with the new dreams and enthusiasm to fulfill them. May this new year make us more responsible, more mature but more childish to someone coz they are adorable that way.  hope this new year helps us to stick to what we have, to move on to someone and to carry everything with and walk along.
